I play in a church band, and I have been recording the services on my AW4416. We don't have a proper soundman, so we have to set up the sound during rehearsal, and get a minimally skilled volunteer to keep things going during the service.

It is frustrating. Something often goes wrong, that if I were behind the board I could detect, but on stage it's impossible.

My faith has been tested in similar cirmucstances, I feel your pain. :p

Don't know if you are looking for advice, but I was able to find a kid, literally like 15, who was a regular and a muso. He was more than happy to learn the ropes and what I taught him, though that was pretty trying at times too. Lost him when he went to college, but for two years it was pretty nice.
I kept the recording gear on stage for awhile, but it was a major pain. Now we pay someone with skills, as it is important to the pastor, and he wants good results.

Thanks for the reply.

That's a good idea. The volunteer that is supposed to mute everyone at the end of the service is already overtaxed. He forgets to push play/record.

Maybe there is some teenager out there actually interested in learning about recording.
