Multimix Firewire 8 and Garageband

I used the Multimix Firewire 8 with a Toshiba T2050 1.60 and had the pops and clicks problem detailed on all Alesis/Home Recording forums. I am going to lay down the dough for a MacPro 2.4 - but need to know if the Alesis will work with Garageband. I have Protools but just discovered that the Alesis will not work with that program - and I really don't like Cubase.

Any testimonials to sucess with MacPro and Garageband with the Alesis Multimix Firewire 8 will be VERY MUCH appreciated!

I'm using the Alesis Multmix FireWire 8 with GarageBand on my MacBook and it works like a charm...
