Hey everyone
This is my first post.
Anyway, I'm not really a newb, I'm just new to the "traditional" home studio setup.
Anyway, I have the SoundBlaster X-Fi xtrememusic, I used to take my Digitech Rp50 and plug directly into the 1/8in mic jack in the back and record using Adobe Audition 1.5... my only problem with this was the latency...
this was about two years ago...
since then I've spent an incredible amount of money messing with multitrack recorders and interfaces, and nothing has worked for me...
I currently own an M-Audio firewire solo, I hate the ableton software that comes with it, because it seems to be only interested in midi(something i could care less about).
My problem is trying to use Audition with my Firewire solo. I can record one track fine, but when i record a second track while playing back the first one, i get a ton of pops and clicks...
Anyone have a solution to this?
Is it my X-Fi card? is it the M-Audio?, or is it Audition?
I've searched every nook and cranny of audition, my input and output are both assigned to the firewire solo, and i up'd my system cache and screwed around with all sorts of different buffer rates...still comes out like garbage.
I am only interested in plugging in a bass and recording many tracks of bass.
s/pdif, midi, digi i/o and all of that doesn't matter at all to me, and never will...all i care about is audio recording and editing software that uses a metronome and allows for me to plug ONE 1/4in jack to record easily.
Is there anyone who can help with this?
I find it outrageous that the most untraditional way was the way that produced the best results, ever since i started wasting money on the "real" way, i've never been able to produce anything that was even half way acceptable.
thanks
