From the Fostex MR 8 FAQ:
MR-8 Frequetly Asked Questions> How do you back up the CF in your PC?

Windows 98SE:

1.Make a folder in your desk top such as MR8 SONGS

2.Insert the CF card to the Card Reader.

3. Drag a song folder( the song you made in a MR-8) in the "Removable Drive" to the MR8 SONG folder you just created.

Windows Me and above:

1.Make a folder in your desk top such as MR8 SONGS

2.Connect USB cable between MR-8 and PC, and set MR-8 to USB mode.

3. Drag a song folder( the song you made in a MR-8) in the "Removable Drive" to the MR8 SONG folder you just created.

Note: Do not mess with the various files in the song folder.

Loading from PC to the MR-8.

Reverse process of the above.
Make sure CF has enough memory to load the song.

I hope this helps.

you can get at at any electronic store. probably target or walmart has them.

Hey BigSnake,

I also have WIN 98. I bought my flash card reader at Business Depot here in Canada for $40CDN. It's very easy to use and works very well.

I bought a PNY CF card reader at Best Buy for $19.00

easy to operate. load the included software...10 seconds

plug reader into a USB port and .....BINGO! hooked up.

appears on your computer as a "removable drive"

Hey BigSnake,

I bought the Verbatim flash card reader.

I have the ZiO - just get the cheapest one that supports Win98 and you'll be fine. Some cost more because they can read multiple card formats (like SmartMedia, for example). A simple CompactFlash reader should cost less than $20US.
