I am using a SanDisk 256mb compact flash card for my MR8. When I turn the MR8 on (with flash card inside, of course) I am getting an error message that says the following:
FILE ERR: 0D
F006

PRESS ENTER

Upon pressing enter, there is another message that says:

MkSngTbl Fail!

Also, this problem only just started today. I have been recording successfully with this same SanDisk 256mb flash card using the MR8 for a long time.

What is going on? Thanks for your help.

Have you tried to re-format the CF card? I think if you don't "delete unused" it will fill that puppy up...not real sure though..

This is a bit of a long shot, but you may also want to check which software version you have in the MR8. I was getting a lot of error messages. I decided to upgrade to version 1.05 and the problem disappeared. It's probably the CF card as bdbdbuck has suggested, but you never know. Good luck.

Response from Fostex:
We are still investigating on the "Error 0D" problem.

In the mean time, please try formating the card not with the "Dazzle" software but from Windows.

Because we checked with the Windows 98 and card reader, we do not have the problem.

To format;

Open My Computer.
Right click "Removable drive" assigned to the card reader.
Select Format.
Execute the command.

That's funny, my MR8 has a "format" option right on the screen. Why would you have to use Windows to format your card.... and what is "dazzle"? I get a little confused at times, you'll have to excuse me... I'm old.

dazzle is a CF card reader...I use one...i remember I messed up my card Xmas day :( i thought my MR-8 broke, so I formatted with windows, and it wokred :D

Well, maybe I just need to get a new flashcard. It is strange, however, that for about two months I recorded (successfully) a lot of material. Oh well. Fostex befuddles me. If this error was something as simple as a card that is not compatible with the MR8, why are still "investigating" said error? Anyways, thanks for your help.
