Hey, guys. I love this forum. Very informative.

I have a question concerning transfering wav files via usb to win 98. In the manual it says it can be done with win me/2000/xp, but nothing about 98.

Can it be done? Is there a driver out there for it? If not, it will accelerate my building a new win 2k box...

Thanks,
Jonathan

MR-8 Frequetly Asked Questions> What OS does MR8 USB connection work with?

Windows ME, 2000 and XP
These OS will recognize MR8 as an external drive straight away when you connect the MR8 to the PC via USB cable.

Windows 98
MR8 USB connection does not work with Windows 98.
However, if you use a Win 98 compatible Compact Flash Card Reader/Writer and install the driver comes with it to your PC, you can still import files from the compact flash via the card reader. This will categorically create the same scenario to directly connecting MR-8 USB to PC.

Macintosh
MR8 USB port does not work with Macintosh computers.
However, if you use a Mac compatible Compact Flash Card Reader/Writer and install the driver comes with it to your Mac, you can still import files from the compact flash via the card reader. This will categorically create the same scenario to directly connecting MR-8 USB to Mac.
Fostex is now investigating to develop MR8 USB driver for Mac OS.

Thanks for the info. Very much appreciated. Where did you find this MR-8 FAQ at? Fostex's site leaves much to be desired.

Is it in the manual and I just missed it?

Ah...

"I see," said the blind man as he picked up his hammer and saw...
