just bought an MPD 16 and i've been on my comp. for like 6 hours staight.....I NEED TO KNOW HOW DO YOU ASSIGN A SOUND FOR EACH PAD...ANY HELP....THX

im tryin to get it to work with cooledit pro. i thought you just had to drag the sounds on the drumpads, but thats not the case. i just want to be able to load a sample into cooledit an add in some drum tracks over it with the mpd.
But i dont know how to put the sounds into the mpd.

YOU'VE GOT IT ALL WRONG BRO!!! You can't actually drag the files from cool edit to the MPD-16. You would need to set up your files in a software sampler, and use MIDI to trigger from the MPD to the sampler. And the bad news........Cool Edit doesn't support MIDI tracks and Virtual Instruments / Samplers. You need to find yourself a new host for a soft-sampler to accomplish this. And you might want to check out the links that ssscientist will probably give you shortly (He is our Resident Provider of MIDI Education
