I have downloaded a lot of MP3 files to my hard drive. I now want to record these onto a CD. I use Cool Edit as the program. How do I cahnge the MP3 files to wav files? I do need to do this, correct? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

You need an mp3 to wav convertor program.

http://www.mp3towave.com/ is a good one.

Limited to 40 conversions though I think. The newest version on Adaptec EZ-CD automagically converts the mp3's to wav's and burns to CD audio all in one step.

CoolEdit 2000? It has a batch processing function. Open the MP3s, save 'em as 16-bit, 44.1 kHz WAVs.

Thanks for the replies. When you say it allows 40 conversions, do you mean total or at one sitting?

Thanks.

As far as I know, most newer burning programs let you make audio cds from mp3s without making you convert them first...I'm pretty sure CDRWIN from goldenhawk.com lets you do that, and I know Nero @ www.ahead.de lets you do it, I use it all the time..

And so does CD Creator 4.0, that's what I use and not one issue...

CDs

Just get Adaptecs EZ CD Creator and drag and drop the mp3 files to the creator window. Its that simple.

An alternative:

Winamp can decode mp3s. Choose DiskWriter as the output plugin.

Just FYI though, decoding an mp3 won't make it sound any better. :)
