Yo, a bunch of mp3s in a folder, track-numbered & everything...

How do I burn an audio CD out of them? And, I'd like to normalize each track somehow so the volume is consistent across the whole CD.

Sounds simple, but I'm stuck?? I know how to do it all the hard way, but is there a one-button-push solution?

Don't tell me Nero, please, coz I don't have it & don't like it.

Thanks people!

Many audio players like iTunes and Musicmatch will burn CDs for you. They are fairly idiot-proof.

Go over to www.hitsquad.com/smm (always a good place for audio stuff) and look through the software links over there.

I want to end up with standard audio CD, not CD full of mp3 files.

I use RecordNow DX for my CD burning.

As long as you stipulate that you are making an audio CD for use in musical CD players, all CD burning software I'm aware of will convert your MP3 files to the standard WAV format......

Heaps of progs will convert MP3 to audio (wave is good as it's editable) for a CD. Nero, EasyCD Extractor, etc etc etc. there are many free download converters out there.
You'll then need a semi reasonable wave editor to not just normalise but do any topping, tailing, re EQing etc that may be required post conversion if you actually want to make it worth the effort unless you grew up on MP3s - then you wouldn't notice the diff once you use a funky preset EQ & mega Bass effect.
waverepair is an excellent yet cheap downloadable editor.
