MP3 conversion for Myspace

I am having some trouble with mysace giving my songs an audible high frequency distortion that sounds something like a phone ringing. The original MP3 file played in iTunes at the same volume does not make this sound.

I have been rendering MP3s straight from my 24/96 Reaper project file to a 320kbps MP3 at the highest quality. Should I be dumbing it down for myspace?

Has anyone else had this problem? What do you guys do?

Every song I've ever heard on myspace has that high end distortion. I'm not sure there's much you can do about it. I think it just has to do with the way their codec works.
