Chessrock, do you think that the Oktava MK-319 would be an "upgrade" from the NT1?

It is if you need a darker and less sibilant mic. Otherwise, it's more of a sideways / lateral move.

In a really low-cost mic locker, I can see the two together covering a lot of bases.

Tim - Is eggbeater now an accepted shorthand then? Good to see one or two of my jokes are standing the test of time ...
Hehe, yeah that one was for you. :D

Chess nails it - I've owned/used all three and the 319 is very complementary to the NT-1 and C1.

FWIW, my NT-1 and C1 sounded very similar, with the C1 being a little clearer and having slightly more headroom (I'm guessing because of a higher capsule voltage). I ended up keeping the C1 and selling the NT-1.

C1 bump

The C1 seems to have a bump in the low end that the NT1 doesn't have. Has anybody else found this?

Marshall MXL V69G

I'm going to try and find a store that will let me try this microphone as well as the other recommendations. Unless you guys think the Marshall is just not well made. Thanks
