MOTU 2408 and Wavelab

I have a MOTU 2408 mk II and I use it well with cubase(VST & SX). For some reason I have glitches when I try to record from input 5&6 on the MOTU using Wavelab. My setting are:

PCI-324 - BUFFER 1024

Wavelab - buffer 3; size 32768

Whats going on?

isn't wavelab only stereo? you might only be able to record using inputs 1&2.....?

I don't know how similar the units are....but I have a presonus firestation. I have 2 sets of drivers (ASIO & WDM) - ASIO support all 8 channels while WDM support stereo recording. The WDM drivers (which utilize inputs 1&2) are the only drivers that I can use with wavelab.
