For me, I would have to say David Gilmour, of the ones mentioned Page
Agreed, David Gilmour is the biggest inspiration for me.

Clapton = Overrated.
Hendrix = Sloppy.
Angus Young.......What the fuck???

Marc Ribot, Keith Richards, Richard Thompson, Hubert Sumlin and Rory Gallagher. There ya go.

By whose or what standard? In what genre of music?
Chet Atkins, Leo Kottke, John Fahey, Leadbelly, Muddy Waters, B.B. King,
Wes Montgomery, Charlie Christian, Django Reinhart, Phil Keaggy, John Renbourn, Bert Jansch
The list goes on forever. . . .

JIMI HENDRIX is GOD!!!!among guitarists... you should all have a shrine set up to pay respect to one the most talented people to ever grace the planet earth with his presence...

Robert Johnson with his(third hand) bad ass mother fucker...no wonder everyone redid his songs...because he was a huge INFLUENCE!!!even JIMI did because he knows good shit!

looking through the five pages of this thread there is some great names but noone mentioned santana or slash...... everyone should cheak out santana's earlier 60's and 70's albums... along with the obvious hendrix, gilmore, robert johnson and the list can go on their my major infulences.
the more you have the more your playing will benefit....

What's wrong with you people? Hendrix was good, but Page tops him in every way

Hendrix is overrated
