It would have to be "I have a Behringer such and such and a Nady bla blah, and how do I get this >$1000 software to work, that I don't happen to have the manual for?"
 
I voted for "cheap mics" but I also think "best rap microphone" threats are growing faster! C'mon, the best stuff to sing any vocals without speanding 1000 bucks is to geat a Shure SM57 or SM58. 85 bucks in mint condition. Avoid the fakes!

I second this! - seems many people come here not wanting to spend much money, but expecting this to be easy and not require any work... like recording is a microsoft wizard or something......
 
The only dumb question is the one not yet typed into the search field. :D

I record them all the time. Why do people think that it takes a special kind of mic? I just don't get what adding the rap part adds to the question. A vocal is a vocal... use what sounds good.

but there's truth in the majority! it looks like mx-mx said it too! which doesn't make it more right of course :rolleyes: and you took my quote out of context too - i went on to say that the search function was very good at answering this stuff, which should be the default answer - you can find stuff there, or in the faq (another good response) and so forth.

so the big question for this thread isn't "which is the most annoying" but "how do we get newbies to read the faq/use the search engine?" the answer is NOT "no question is a bad question" here, but rather "whack em upside the head." but the question ITSELF posed by the newbie isn't bad - for instance, it's a very good question for someone with a 100 bucks in their pocket to turn to this site and read this...

i'm more annoyed by the guy with the avalon pre, the nuemann u87 and the fairchild who asks how to get a more professional sound than the newbie with a RNC that asks the same question.

Not exactly a question, but...

"THEN ,I BOUGHT A... (USUALLY A CHEAP GEAR)" .
When starts at this way, you already know: the guy will blame all the world for the (bad) gear that he gets.
 
How can I get a Good Sound by plugging my $20 radio Shack microphone into the Mic port of my sound Card??

Why doesn"t my New Condenser Mic not work when I have it plugged into my PC??

I have a $350,000,000 studio, with cracked software. How do I make it work with the $16 sony mic that came with my boom box? Do you have the cheat codes for the latest super platinum bundled VST plugs? Come on.....help me out here, you asshole F#$^& piec of Sh@# Mother F#$%%$^!!!!!!!! This is supposed to be such a helpful place!!!!!!!!!!!
