did he record with that foreal? I've been wanting to buy the v67g but people say if you have the spc1, there's no reason to buy it. I would also like to buy the v69me. I've heard good and bad things about that mic but i want to see for myself.

I think that's a scene from "Soul Plane" actually, Harvey may know differently.

Hey Harvey, the guys next door use their C414 on almost all rappers. I use my CAD VX2 most times...

The biggest problem with getting good tracks for rap vocalists ... is the fact that half of them don't know the lyrics before they get to the studio. :D

In order for the vocal to sound clear and up-front, you need to sing straight in to the mic. You can't be turning your head and looking off to the side at your cheat sheet, and expect to get a good consistant sound; I don't care what mic you're using.
.

I don't understand why it is so hard for people to understand that. They think that even tho they turn to the side, the mic is going to still sound the same. Not happenin. Or either, they get real hype and start movin around too much. I rap and i record myself rapping. I know that i have to stay in basically one spot(the sweet spot of the mic) to get a consistent tone that sounds good. I guess it's a audiophile thing!!! We just know how to use the mic right! Normal people don't!

Yup, from the movie "Soul Plane". And most mics don't have a clue about who's singing into them.

End of "RAP" mic discussion. The final answer is:

MXL V67g.
I usually prefer the SP B3 over the V67g, depends on the song. But between those 2 mics I get a sound I like, I usually use the V67 for sung raps.

Another repetitive question, though maybe not annoying... "What's the difference between the V67, V67G and V67B?

Ummmm... isn't the V67G green rather than blue?

That picture has been significantly compressed so that it looks blue...I remember the previews and saying to my wife "hey, we sell that mic!".

The V67 is black, the "G" is green, and I'm sorry maybe it's just late but...I've not used or seen a "B"?

There is the V67i which has two differently tuned capsules.

I do Agree... but I must add that this happens to alot of the rock/alt/folk I've recorded too. I think it's just part of being a musician, maybe even a musicians commandment.

Thou shalt never be prepared!

Ha! That's funny. But makes me think that if a NEWBIE asking a repetitive or annoying or thoughtless question simply responded to "attackers" THIS exact way instead of arguing it would totally disarm the bloodthirsty annoyed bitter veterans we seem to have all become. :D :D
