Then we come back to the issue of buying a power amp... It's endless isn't it...

250 is only half the price if you factor in the power amp.

He said he already has an amplifier. Its probably not the best but would be useable while he saved up to upgrade to a better one. Therefore some passive speakers would be a good option.

I have seen that I need then to spend more money than I wanted. I guess I will. I am only a freshman in college so I have been trying to save money for the future but I can dish out the extra money. I am going to get a few more things probally today so I will get tham then. Should I get the tannoy or M-Audio's. I do not have a music store around so I cannot do the price macth thing like you suggested gidge. Thanks in advance, Matt

between the M-Audio and the Proto-J's, id get the ProtoJ's.....online dealers will match it if that place is an authorized Tannoy dealer.....you may wanna look into that....$170 is a decent price and they are a nice monitor....and you could use that amp you have until you can get a better one....

Thanks Gidge. I however have went on and ordered the M-Audios along with six mic stands and the Marshall mxl 990. Now I will not be able to get anymore studio stuff until the summer probbally. Thanks though for all of yalls help. Matt

P.S. The M-Audios will still be good monitors. Correct?
