Monitors/ EV Speakers

Hi Everyone.
I am new here and to recording. I have a question maybe some of you can help me with.

Can I use my EV sx100plus powered speakers as my monitors for listening to what i have recorded? Do i have to go out and buy studio monitors? I just bought these about 4 months ago, and would hate to go out and spend more skaroll on monitors.

The EVs are great speakers, and you can use them for monitoring. However, they are not all that strong on the bottom end fo the frequency range, and you may find that your mixes are bottom heavy.

You can use them until you become dissatisfied with your mixing and can afford something more geared to the purpose.
