I want to be able to monitor my levels properly.
I've been going into a Tascam that just has linear level views.
Now I'm moving into Cubase which seems to have lines as well. (I should point out that I havent recorded anything in Cubase. I've just looked at the default things.)
Is there a plugin or outboard piece or something that will show me where the levels are at dB wise? Or is there another way of figuring things out?

Im pretty sure there are dB levels on the mixer faders

The level in Cubase is numeric at the bottom of each fader.

This. If you want a nicer meter though check out (if you can even buy it separate from TRacks) IK's metering plug (no idea what it's called).

It looks like so and gives you RMS, Peak as well as percieved levels. Plus other useful things like phase and freq information.
