ok, so I am going to purchase monitors finally. I was originally just going to go with krk rp-5s to save money but am considering pulling a little more money together to get something in the $500 range. If I do this, which is the best from this list.....

KRK RP-8

Event TR8

BlueSky Media Desk 2.1

M-Audio BX8a ( almost ready to rule this one out just based on the reviews I have read so far. It doesnt seem comparible to the others but I included it anyway. )

Thanks guys. As of right now, I am leaning towards the RP-8s unless someone can change my mind.

get the blue skys ..just so I can read the review! :D
never hear much about these on this forum?

There was a pair of BX8 used for $225 at my local pawn/music shop. That'd leave some money for bass traps.

if your asking opinions, I liked the KRK RP8 you have listed. They seem to built well and I liked the sound. They're big though, and frkn just seemed to scream "Turn Me UP!"...I think the KRK's all sound better louder, like a V8 engine wants some gas and the pedal down. Almost mid-fields imo.

the gang turned me on to the YSM1p's and if you like the DYNAUDIO sound this is a cheaper <$500 option imo. like the RNC and DMP3 and SPB1, I was really impressed with the recomendation, the Yorkvilles in the same vein.

don't know about the Events...but the ASP8 are frkn crystal clear, but again frkn Large physically... I can't imagine speakers that big in my small HR, especially cranked up at 3ft! damn...

what size room you have? what type music? travelling engineer or home solo-songwriter etc?
this may help with some inputs you want.
