I have the Fostex PM -2's. But, the headphone jack on my Audigy 2 soundcard, doesn't sound right coming out of them. I have 2 stereo 1/4 " TRS cables with a splitter going into the headphone jack. Does anyone know why the sound is messed up. And Does digital multitrack recorders use stereo and mono for their output?????

I need help

CAN A BALANCED CABLE BE USED WITH A MULTITRACK THAT HAS UNBALANCED OUTPUT???

First off, quit yelling. :)

My guess is your splitter is the wrong kind, and you should be using different cables. You need stereo to dual mono, not stereo to dual stereo. Also, if you are using balanced (TRS) cables, you will be sending left and right signals to each speaker, which is expecting a balanced input, not a stereo input. That will really screw it up. Use the correct splitter, and use unbalanced (TS) cables. Then you will be sending unbalanced signal, and it should work. Oh yeah, and get a new soundcard. Not to be mean or anything, but your soundcard SUCKS!!!!! :D

As for the multitrack question, it depends on the model.
