i came across a couple of mxl v67 mogami microphones in a pawn shop for $20 a peice. is this the same company that makes mogami cables? didn't know they made microphones, any good?

Ship me one, I'll pay for the cost and shipping, and give ya $10 for your trouble.
MXL is the brand, Mogami wire is what they are wired with, and they are decent mics. I have one that is ok, would like to have another to make a pair.
What else do they have.
Serious about shipping me one, by the way.

kick ass. Buy em, quick. Do a search on V67 in the microphone forum.

it says "mogami" right on the microphone. i just bought them haven't hooked them up yet. both large diaphragm, i'm guessing condensers. came with two xlr cables too, mogami cables! sweet. $40

I nominate this for "mic bargain of the year." Anyone second that nomination?

Let's see if they work first...

Then let's see if they have any more 'cuz that's the best price anyone will ever pay for V67's. I wouldn't sell mine to my best friend or my dad that cheap.

Pete

If they're functional and $20 a piece, that borders on shoplifting.:D

Well, the cables are worth $28 each if they are 25 foot... about what, $18 for the 15 foot? So basically, the mics were free with purchase of a cable. See if they can get any more. Dont forget, I was 5 hours ahead of the nearest beggar :)

I hope your asshole grows togeather.....

Damn, Why cant I find a deal like this.
Yes, they are large diaphragm condensor, and they do require phantom power.

well i hooked 'em both up and only one works. one had a dented grill and both are scratched up a little. the dented one actually works but the signal is distored. probably a damaged diaphragm. tried it out on only on acoustic guitar so far. sounded pretty good on the high end fingerpicking stuff. not as good as my 184's in xy, but not bad. probably would make a good distant mic. haven't tried it on vocals yet, am curious to see how they turn out. ran it through a vmp-2 and sytek pre's, liked it on the vmp-2. did a search on the board and found lots of postings about this mic, funny i never heard of it. oh well, $40 for a working mic and two 15' (?) xlr mogami cables. come to think of it they said i have seven days and get a full refund if they don't work. anyone heard of calrad 500c's? they look like old radio announcer mics, probably dynamic. they had a few there for $20 also.

I'll second that one for "mic bargain of the year", but I want to make a nomination for guitar bargain of the year.

I have a friend that just picked up a Martin D-45 at a garage sale for $100.

It's not in perfect shape, but it appraised for $7,000.

Why I can't I be the lucky slug who comes across a deal like this?
