Mobo chipset for Cubase and Multimix??

So, on my other thread, several people cautioned me to look out for what Chipset I am getting in my new PC, to be used with Cubase and the Alesis Multimix 16.

Does anybody have any further info/experience on this? What chipsets are good for this?

multimix 16 firewire warning

I used to run a mm16 with my ASUS board and a nvida chipset, using cubase. The latest drivers were terrible and were at best not functional for anything remotely close to quality recording. The folks at Alesis were very unresposive to my customer service calls. I can only speak for the firewire version, but if you plan on running cubase with any multimix...BEWARE.

Man, that sucks. Hopefully, everything will be ok for me. You would think the MM16 would be great with Cubase, since LE comes bundled with it, so there must be some kind of business partnership there too. Hopefully everything works out ok...

Anyone else have bad experiences with the MM16?
And does anybody know about the chipsets??
