Hello friends,

I have a question concerning the Yamaha MO6 Music Production Synthesizer:

While recording in pattern mode, if I use the copy pattern option, it seems to link up the instruments so that when I overwrite a track, it overwrites the same track in all the pattern spaces(A,B,C and so forth).

This appears not to be consistent. Is this by design? or am I doing something that is causing this?

This is a problem in the sense that, I will copy a pattern that may have five instruments from pattern A to pattern B. If I try to overwrite the drum track on pattern B, it also overwrites on pattern A.

Thanks in advance for any help with this!

JB

Answer to my question

I figured out why this was happening.

The pattern consist of sections: A, B, C...
The MIDI data is stored in Phrases which can be used throughout any of the sections.
If you are using phrase1 in both sections A and B, if you edit any of those sections, you are editing phrase1 and not just the section.

In the copy Job, you can select the option to duplicate the phrase (meaning create new ones). Duplicating is default. I must have inadvertently deselected it when copying or something related.
