It's the joint between the mic and the mic cable. It never really fits in the first place. It's ok if it is on a shock mount/mic stand. But when I hold it in the hand, slight move makes it pops like some explosions. Wondering if it is my cable.

Another problem i have, is when the diaphram gets moisture, it sounds like tornadoes swirling over my home.

Why would you be holding the mic while recording anyway? Especially with a condenser.

Especially the 319! I like this mic, but it has terrible suspension. I wouldn't even think of putting on a stand without a shockmount, let alone holding it.
The XLR conn is way to tight on these, and some cables will work better than others. Also, why is it getting moist? This is a no no. If it's breath moisture, fix that and other problems by using a pop filter.

There's sometimes a rubber o-ring on the female end of an XLR cable. Remove it and the plug should insert all the way into the mic.

And here come the jokes....:o

You mean like : Don't even think about removing the rubber unless you know that female really well, and who's been plugged into her before.
