If you can find one..you should get a Tascam tmd-1000., and a TDIF soundcard. total cost, around $600?
I used one for years...it is a DIGITAL mixer..it has 8 preamps...(4xlr 4 1/4in) and outputs TDIF.
It has 16 MIDI non-automated faders with mutes and pan...so you can use it as a control surface OR you can actually route signal through it, without any needless d/a conversions.
think about it. If you have any specific questions..use th PM, cuz I dont come round much anymore..
