I recently tried out Reaper and was somewhat disappointed. I went back to cool edit pro and adobe audition. I am looking to mix rap vocals. I have heard cool edit pro used very nicely by a rapper by the name of D-Pryde on youtube. I was just wondering if anyone on here has a guide or something on how to get the studio quality sound I am looking for off these programs. I know some are thinking that can not be done, but there is video proof it can. Thank you!

um do some research. or maybe throw the "instant mix" plug on it. that should do it. you have the program now learn how to use it. i.e. search bar. ask specific questions and try to learn on your own. your one of those people that use protools as some sort of magicall music device. of course cooledit can produce studio quality music. in a studio with a person who knows how to use their tools. so go learn. thats the only right answer i can give you. or turn it up to 11.

why not research how many other good recordings were done in cooledit?

Thats kind of what I was looking for, a person to tell me how they got their good quality.... I have pretty good quality and know how to use my stuff. It's just I have seen better, and wanted advice. My bad, I will quit with the questions.

The program used has little to do with sound quality. It's what the program is capturing in the 1st place. that means good microphones, preamps; etc.
