Hey folks,

As part of a project I'm working on I'm posting 9 questions regarding mixing engineer expereince and style on this forum in the form of poll questions.

I use volume envelopes for more than just fades, sometimes to boost sections. But it's not always as cut and dried as "adding 2dB to the chorus." It depends on what the song needs. Somewhere between options 4 & 5. I guess I'll vote option 4, though it's not quite right.

Yeah, sometimes it's hard picking from a limited number of choices, which is why I suggested picking whatever is "closest" to your answer. This is not a perfect scientific poll by any stretch of the imagination, just getting general trends is all.
