oh...and I see you know how to "master" too...what a joke.In your case, I think the quotes around mastering are ESPECIALLY called for...

Mistral - just keep in mind people are doing you a favor when they hear your tunes.....that's it........and don't let it get to you........it's quite funny sometimes.
mixmkr - have a nice day!!!!!![]()

I agree!!!!
With one added point.....If you want your ass kissed, play it for your girlfriend, mom, dad, etc.....If you want to hear the truth...play it for strangers who will tell you exactly what they felt when they did you the favor of commenting....![]()
mixmkr said:I'd don't need to listen to your proof. So you're proud of what you did...great. And, we'll let the resident pros judge your mastering job..should they care to comment and listen to your mix. But, I wouldn't be supprised if they just skip over the whole post because of the bullshit that seems to have taken over your thread. I'm sorry for that, and I should probably let peoples attacks on me slide by in the future, because it doesn't really bother me....as much as it seems to upset you. This shouldn't be a flame wars thread, but some 'to the fact' discussions on mixing, etc. Save yourself some effort and don't put up some crappy recording that you helped. It's not really necessary...really.

ass kissing isn't of any relevance here.. you like it, that's fine, that's probably cause you are a fan of the style to begin with.
I've visited these forums long enough to know how things are done, and I know feedback can be given without being an ass.. it's like you not only accept it, you encourage it. and yet, if someone becomes annoyed with that, they're at fault. Is it because they are the ones under the microscope so to speak? It just seems to me people think they can talk however the hell they want just because they are the ones offering their advice/opinions. but that shit doesn't fly with me, sorry.

you're right that it shouldn't be as much of an issue as it was made out to be, but it doesn't really seem my response to your initial post warranted that kind of defense of your godly status at the helm of a mixer as compared to mine.. I personally don't set out to compare myself to others, I'm sorry if you do feel that need.
Gee...it seems to me, your sarcastic remarks started out like this:
mixmkr: I see you like to use flashy "buzzwords" and phrases, as if people here don't understand what you're "saying" without them. Gee.. "production" eh? is that different from production?
I don't know what kind of music you listen to, but I suspect it's radio pop swimming in verbs and fancy compressors and tuned to perfection...
you're right...I'M to sensitive!! sorry...I should have just told you to fuck off, and been done with it!
Later...I gotta push all the "peons" away from my 12 foot mixing desk, and get at the controls, only like a mixing god knows how.
Actually, my Jack Russell wants to go run in the woods. We'll catch up later...
no feelings hurt...peace.

Rather than continueing on with this BS, why don't you [for my benefit apparently] go back to my original post, and tell me how I should have worded it, without being an ass, and get across the points I wanted to say.
I believe it was:
"If the vocals are supposed to be sung, and loud enough to understand ANY lyrics, they don't. The guitars are kinda "fuzzy" to me, and "want to work" because of the synth pad behind it, to let them contrast over.
The snare sounds artificial, for sure, and the drums are low level in general. Actually the guitars are just too loud.
Some "production" would help to bring this more into the "song mold"...if that's important."
I believe I was saying that I couldn't hear the vocals (as sometimes JUST the sound of a voice is what is wanted, and the lyrics aren't AS important. Also, the guitars DID sound fuzzy to me, but they are OK..to some extent, because the synth tracks behind them, complement the tones, when together. My snare comments and drum levels comment seems obvious, and NON-offensive enough...same with the guitar volume. And by production...some people place strong wieght on good production to make it a complete song...others don't, and feel the music is enough.
Was that really offensive?? Personally, I don't think so...and I think you're being a little too fragile and sensitive. Hopefully, everyone you deal with will be careful not to step on your toes in the future, but I've gotten slammed ALOT harder than this, with stuff that I thought was perfect from my standpoint, with people that knew a hell of a lot more than I did...and I gained from it. (I sold my NS10's![]()

this is another prime example. you belittle others, whether or not they insulted you in some way, but especially when they don't take kindly to your approach to critiquing music.
I don't care whether people are brutally honest, in fact it's best if they are, but there's a tactful way to go about it.
