Mixing in this song

I use the regular reverbs normal echos limiter multiband compresser. compress vocals all the basics to get a ok sound. but i like the final sound. but i feel like i could do better any ideas on what would go nice with this?

I dig the song. Good flow.

The vocals are a bit "on top" of the mix. It feels like two parts to me; the beat and the vocals. I'd rather hear the beat sit "around" the vocals rather than behind. A bit abstract, I know. Overall, good stuff though!
