Mixing from Digi8trck to computer - buzz!!!

I am using my vf80 to record, and mastering/mixing on the editing program, audacity.
i know this is very basic, however i am having a problem.
the way you connect the two machines is use in by plugging the audio input/output into the computers' mic input.
when this happens there is aharsh buzz that will not disappear. i use the the programs noise removal to no proper avail.
any suggestions woudl be appreciated.

Only non-preamped microphones should be plugged into mic inputs. You need to run your line out into the line in input on your sound card.
