I recorded two basson duet songs for a friend, one of them has two bassoons and the other has 4. any suggestions on mixing them?

DavidK said:Agreed, There is almost no "mixing" in classical music. The players mix themselves. It's all about mic placement, the right mics, signal chain etc. There may be extensive "editing" i.e. splicing several perfomances together, but mixing basically applies to volume levels, panning, etc., and that is rarely done. Historically, classical has been recorded on a 2-track. If something like an 8 track Tascam was used, it was to try out different mics. "Mixing" is up to the players.

But, yeah, I agree. Who the hell would want to write a bassoon quartet?
