So i am trying to setup a studio i bought a studio projects b1 mic, a stereo 3-channel mixer/equalizer from radio shack, i have a sound blaster xtreme gamer X-fi sound card.Im having trouble setting everything up i have my mic connected to the mixer im not too sure how to get the mic to go from the mixer to my computer..any help would be appreciated i have a 6 foot adapter cable with the 2 audio sides and then 1 1/8 inch cable..i feel really stupid, help??what do i need? or what should i do?

Im going to assume you have a left and right RCA out on the back of the mixer. (RCA plug/connection looks like the ones on your tv for ins and outs). Plug in the cable in to those outs, and then take the 1/8" plug and connect that to your line in port on the sound card, i want to say this is the red one in your sound card.

Honestly, I'd return the mixer and cable and pick up USB mic mate, or Blue Icicle XLR to USB converter. You might be spending a little more, about $25 or so but you will get a much cleaner sound. If you need more inputs right now thats the best your going to do at a cheap range, if you got some money look in to an USB/Firewire interface for your computer, there are plenty on this forum about them. Look a couple rows down and there is one about the mbox.

Good-luck,

Mike
