Hey Severed,

Etiquette requires that you don;t type in all capitals (LIKE THIS) as it is considered that you are shouting at those who may be reading your thread.

Which is what Sennheiser was trying to tell you.

Do a search in the Mixing forum, and also in Newbies and you will find more information than you can possibly use. Also check out Blue Bear's and James Argo's links - if they say they're useful to you, then they will be.

Generally you need a mixer (I'm not familiar with your Tascam, but it may be sufficient), some monitors, possibly an amplifier, probably some outboard compression and reverb and a regular stereo cassette recorder or CD burner.

The general idea is to present the sounds you have recorded in the most favourable light.

Imaging is where the sounds go left to right and panning is how you make them appear to go there.
Staging is where they go front to back, and reverb and volume is how they appear to have been moved there.

Try to put the lead vocal in the middle with some reverb; bass, snare and kick drum in the middle with no reverb, pan pianos, guitars etc and the other drums and cymbals to different parts of the image with reverb to taste etc etc

. . . and welcome.

foo
