I put a mix of a new song on:

It's a basic basic mix and the melody (voice) still needs to be added.

Please, let me know what you think of the sound, concept et all.

If some wants to add a melody or had an idea of lyrics, please feel free to jump in.

Hope to hear,
Sjonnie1

some vocals out there????

Anyone? Some good vocals out there who wants to add and try?????

Very pretty.
The guitar in the 1st 30 secs or so seems panned a little to the right.
Nice mix up to 1.30 the instrumentation & melody get a bit too sweet there - maybe leave out the keyboard/synth at that stage.
the change at 2.00 is good & brings things back.
The 2.30 change is fine but the celeste or whatever sample is, again, too sweet albiet very brief.
This is a very pretty & well mixed piece.
Though it needs a good folk melody on top to nail it to earth a bit. the bass parts are quite good but it does need a little real bottom end occasionally.
Post your changes please.

I would love to put some vocals over it...where can I d-load the track? If you get it to me, I will do something over the weekend...

what is the premise of the song? It kinda had a melloncholy journey type of theme in my eyes...then there is resolution at the end. all in all I think it is a cool track with good playing...I would love to collab. let me know

oh yeah, the only thing I can think of mix wise is the snare...I think it needs some light compression and a little eq on highs. guitars sound great though

I can send you the mp3 if you'd like (then I need yur email-address). The mix is in ProTools.
You can do whatever you want. Just let your imagination inspire you. Thanks for the mixcomments!!

I dislike the synth at :38. It jars me out of the space my head was occupying listening to the classical guitar. Perhaps a more organic sound would help. It's just my opinion, however - please ignore it.

This is very easy-listening to my ears. It needs a full-length jazz guitar solo.

Great instrumentation throughout. Nice work, especially with the hand percussion on the way out. Nice.

Great melody. Great playing. Don't need the additional instruments. But that's your arrangement and I am only saying my opinion. :)

I don't care much for the 1:30 and onwards drums and other instruments that make it more pop than the acoustic/classical that it started out being.

Overall as it stands, nice mix, nice arrangement, and nice playing. :)

'It needs a full-length jazz guitar solo'....

Maybe someone's out there who wants to add that? Instead of vocals....?

sjonnie - as you know I am a huge admirer of your music. this one hits me as very pop...in the orchestration, not in the tune at all. the tune is quite pretty. but I find myself wanting to hear a nice crisp lead line in there, something to toughen it a little, give it more traction. I would agree with others that it's too soft, especially knowing what you can do.

the suggestion of a jazz lead line is a good one; I could also hear one of those flamenco-inspired lines you do so well. personally I'd lose the synth (except the first section of it, which is quite subtle and nice) and replace it with a crisp lead guitar part. you could do a wonderful melody here, I am sure. I'd rather get the percussive effects through really sharp guitar playing than through a synthesized rhythm section.

just my opinion, obviously...it's a fine tune but I just want it to have a little more gravity. if I didn't know your capabilities I wouldn't bother to say so, but I do..... ;)
