Yeah man I have that same mixer. It seems when I record my vocals the only way you get good results is if you have the high ends up. Also my vocals don't seem to record well over the mixes with this mixer for some reason. I have the MG 10/2. My vocals seem like their beside the beat & not over it.

if i continue tracking like i am now with the ADAT (although honestly i'd rather get an analog set up... sorry i hate mixing with computers) I need at least a 16/4 mixer, like i have now. I think the easiest upgrade right now would be nicer preamps, and then a nicer mixer. I cant do much about anything else right now.

i've been looking at the mackie VLZ mixer. how would that compare to the MG?

I had a listen, and it's pretty obvious to me that you need to work on your room accoustics and mic technique / placement, big-time.

.

I agree. The guitars do not sound bright and i would think it is an acoustic problem.

Kasey do you get alot of hiss & noise out of Yamaha Mg Mixer mic pres? I seem to get alot of noise out of mine.
