Mix It Like A Record - My review...

I have been using PSP Vintage warmer in ProTools LE - and as an RTAS effect it doesn't seem to do multi-mono like the AC Channel. But, as an effect over all, its pretty cool for "warming" up the mix. You can kind of use it as tube and tape with the presets as a good starting point.

But I have been told that AC Channel is truly a better product.

Bummer, I didn't see a VST or DX version of AC Channel. PSP Vintage Warmer in unlinked mode will have to do for now.

If anyone is aware of another VST or DX plug that is closer to AC Channel please let me know.

Thanks,

Bart

Maybe it's just because I think Neve Campbell is pretty hot.
I second that. My ex actually looks a bit like her. The pic don't really show it well, but i don't have many pics of her so it'll have to do.

How sweet.

Hey - you mentioned the unlinked mode of PSP Warmer - does that simulate the multi mono mode???

Here's what the manual says:

"The Link Off/Link On switch links and unlinks Vintage Warmer's two channels. When linked, each channel has identical settings. Unless the signal requires correction, the Link on option is preferred for stereo processing"

Sounds like it could be a reasonable substitute however unlike the AC-1, PSP's Vintage Warmer doesn't give you channel independent "tweakable" controls.

I'm sure someone on the site will come along with a VST/DX alternative for AC-1. Charles? Charles Dye? Are you out there?

I thought the analog plugs from McDsp were rtas and AS as well not just tdm. In fact I'm almost certain on that. Now what does suck is I think mcdsp is Mac only, I don't think they suport windows. I did demo a few of their plugs and I can say they are pretty damn amazing.

I think the TDM package has the RTAS option for PC. Cloneboy had mentioned that as being the case - but don't quote me. Its the more expensive version compared to AC for LE.

Just checked and should have earlier and didn't think about it. The mcdsp plugs are osx/winxp compatable. The "tdm" package is tdm/rtas/as all in one. The le versions aren't pro tools le specific, they're just lesser versions of the full plug.
