Mix I'm not sure about

Not bad...

What is that repetitive harpsichord type sound. Is there something else you could try there? Not the piano, the other thing striking chords.

The guitar actually sounded really nice. I liked the tone and playing.

I would try and replace that sound I mentioned. I don't think you need it. Just bring the acoustic up some and go from there.

Lots of potential.

That was actually an organ sound on a Casio keyboard. Maybe a little cheesy. I actually thought of doing little guitar fills that echoed in time to that regular pattern, then decided on the organ part. I'll have to think that through. Do you think I should drop the part or change the sound?

Personally I would emphasize the backbeats (no quarternote hits on the organ, just one hit per bar on the fourth beat...and double that with the guitar). Make a full-on 6/4 R'n'B ballad of this (123blam!56)

Do you understand what I mean? The first song I think of is I've Got Dreams To Remember by Otis Redding. But that's rather delicate. I'd go for more beef than that. There are better examples....it's just to give you an idea....

So...to answer your question: yes, it's too full for a song about Empty Spaces...

Only my humble opinion of course. :)

Peddulist,
I know exactly what you mean and I like that idea a lot. I didn't hear the RnB lurking in the song, but its there. I think I'll give that a try.

This reminds me of an old 50's tune...I could totally hear this with some do-wop background vocals in there. Very nice sound you have on the guitar and well played!

Your vocals kind of remind me of Bruce Springsteen (and I mean that as a compliment) :)

Nice job!

Love Bruce, so maybe some influence showing through. I wish I had that kind of power in my lungs, but I don't.

Nice Song

It must be nice to be able to sing. I like your song a lot. I agree with the other comments about the Cheeze organ. I would either effect it and put it back in the mix, or better, use something else to play the part. The guitar solo might be a hair loud. Actually, I liked it loud the 2nd time. Maybe put some reverb on it the first time so it settles in the mix more, and then comes up front the 2nd time.
