I like the tune... very cool...

Nothing wrong with trying different things but I think it din't work well in this case.. like the drum thingies and the way the drums stop for the verse.. rim would be nice... but again this all artistic lisense he-he... :)
the harmony part didn't blend well IMHO...

good choice of drum sound..

the collab thing is great though... keep it up guys and thanks for posting I enjoyed it.

cheers

Fed- I just notived your Av...What's funny is yesterday I posted one of me holding a trout and a knife and a rather evil face hanging over the edge of a boat. Fish On!

Gidge, you wrote a cool tune.. muze, you sang and played it well...

this tune to me, is a song from a father to his son.. that's what I get out of it..

Yeah. Reminded me of "That's my Job" by Conway Twitty....with Led Zeppelin drums...good try Sam :) You definitely nailed the bgv's.

Good tune, Gidge.
Nice acoustic sound, muze.

How'd you guys do the file exchange? MP3's, ADAT, .wav's?

Really nice song, as has been said before there was that one drum fill that sounded a bit overpowering for me, didn't go well with the acoustic guit bit. Other than that everything seemed to fit well, maybe surprising given it was a long distance effort! Well done!

Guernica,
I like that,Sam heavy with praise!
I'm with you cause,
"He ain't heavy,he's my bro-ther-rr"

You don't know deserving of praise he really is.

I realised this morning,I never sent him the chords!
Ooops!
Sorry Sam!

He's good man!
To be able to do all that by ear is no easy trick!

I had a lot of problems with my e-mail,it completly slipped my mind.
Well, you know what they say, your memory's the second thing to go!:D

theron,
Thanks man,
I really enjoyed doing this.
Gidge really did a great writing job,and Sam's the man!:D
Glad you liked the acoustic,it's fake stereo.

Dave,
Thanks very much!
And thanks again for the Davemania collection,I'm really enjoying it!
I got a real kick out of the title,"The Off White Album."
That's cool! :D

theron,
I agree,Sam's bass sound is great,I'm hoping he will do some more with me in the future.

Lt. Bob,
Thank you,sir!:D

I appreciate your comments.

We did the whole thing through Nowhere and e-mail.
I uploaded an mp3,320 vbr,and Sam downloaded it and did his magic!

Then he uploaded the finished product to his site, and I downloaded it to mine.

Pretty easy really, the hardest part was getting the levels right,we had to do a couple of takes.

Well worth the effort.
Collaborations are a blast!

Kramer,
Thanks again!

Sams singing really did the trick,he has a fine voice.

It's really cool that we could all get together like this.
I think the internet is the best thing to ever happen to us homewreckers!:D

CrankyOne,
Glad you liked it,thanks.

Turned out better than I thought it would, considering we used mp3's.
I think the good balance is due to Sam's mixing talent's and good ears!
Really made it shine.

JMarcomb,
Thank's,much appreciated!

The harmonies really did the trick,I needed the help!:D

TripleM,
Thank's!
I agree, the writing Gidge did on this is great!
I especially liked the melody, like you said, real pretty.

erichenryus,
Appreciate your listening!
I don't think we are going to do another take, but if we do I'll give your suggestions a try, thanks.

Fed,
Glad you enjoyed it!

Probably could be some improvements all around, but it's pretty cool I think.
Not to bad for an mp3 collab.

ChuckU,
Thanks for your input!
Really glad you liked it.

We did it all with vbr mp3's.
The wave was to big to send via. e-mail

Definatly a good way to go,I'm using a Lame encoder and an EAC ripper.

Jags,
Appreciate you listening,thanks!
Pretty amazing we could do this from thousands of miles away!
I definatly got the bug now!:D

Thanks very much,
Pete

to cool!!!!!!!

WOW, you guy's should do this more often!!!!!!!!!!

just fantastic, and yes, NO MORE EFFECT'S ON SAM'S VOICE!!!

now this is what it's all about!!!!!!!!!!!!

thank's guy's

peace

rick

another great tune. I liked every second of it. I had to turn my speakers way up, but that's my puter, for sure.

dtb

Sure Muze,... anytime,... glad you like it!

Thanx again, and great job on your song, you guys!

It really transformed right before our 'ears'.

;)

Well I'm a bit late with my comments... not much more to say really. I liked the song... nice and lay back... It's nice to know believers are easy to find in the US they are somewhat rarer here in OZ.

My favourite sound was the git - very nice. I'm not familiar with what type of git you have ? mic setup etc. ?

Well done guys

fenderlikingood,
Thanks,glad you dug it!

I agree with Sams voice,it's really good natural.
I definatly am looking foward to doing this again!

dtb,
Thank you my friend!
Glad you thought it was o.k.
Havn't heard the Wed. night jam in a while, hope your going to post more,I really enjoy them!

dres,
Thanks for the nice comments from down under.:D

Over here it depends on what part of the country you live in.
I lived out in the midwest for a while,it's called the Bible Belt!

Now I'm back on the east coast,NYC area,(where I'm from.)
This is more of the Saprano belt!
But it's cool,it's not what everyone else thinks, but what you do,right.:)

My guitar is a 10 year old curly maple Guild cutaway.
It's recorded into a Dragonfly,through a Mackie VLZ,direct to disc.
For the strumming I recorded it twice, and panned them stereo,(you know fake stereo!)
I just got a 603,pretty impressed so far.

Thanks,
Pete

Nice piece of writing! Not exactly my style of music, but very well done!
Today's my oldest sons 6th b'day(7/27),so I took note of the title!
Acoustic guitar was wonderful, thru and thru!Vocals were quite nice also.
Drums were nice, but the fills were overkill!I think a small amount of editing(cut the fills to half their speed)would make a big difference.Think Nick Mason,as opposed to Neil Pert!
As an online collaboration, this is an amazing acomplishment! It really sounded like the work of one person,or the work of muti-persons together in one local!God,I love the digital age!
I would love to be part of a future collaboration,if anyone needs some sick metal rythm or lead work.
Keep up the good work,guys!

It seems all the problems with this song are on me..

If you listen to the Led Zeppelin song, 'your time is gonna come,' that's what I was 'going for.. gggggggggooooing for.. :D

Sorry to stink up the collaboration guys.. I will do something better next time.. I enjoyed doing it, but that doesn't matter if the end result is unsatisfactory..

next time.. :)

beezelbubba,
I wish your son a great birthday!
There cool at that age, aren't they? :)

Glad you liked the song,it was alot of fun to do.
Amazing we could make it work!

Collaborations are definatly the nuts!:D

Thanks,
Pete

Hey Sam,
You posted that the same second I did.
That was cool!

I really don't believe you did anything but make it better.
I look at the differance before and after you added your stuff, night and day!

If you look for little inconsistances here and there, you'll find them in any song.
It took me probably 50 differant takes to get my stuff almost right!
If you want to change the drums,or edit them,I'll be glad to repost the song at Nowhere.
I think you should, seems like it's buggin you.
And we can't have that!:D

Seriously,Gidge and I both think it turned out great, and your part was the highlight of it.

Talk to you later,
Pete

Very nice. I like the acoustic sound. Very "real".

This song has a very fluid motion and moves along nicely. You guys did a great job at collaborating. I don't have any mixing notes. This song sounds great, nice drumming, great interplay between the keyboard and guitar and nice vocals!

You guys did a great job!

Track Rat,
Thanks very much,I appreciate your listening!

boydrj,
Thank's for your comments!

Turned out really well considering how we did it.
The drums, keys, and backing vox really made it!
I'm hoping to do more in the future.

Thanks,
Pete

Sam, this is my first chance to get to tell ya what you did for the song....Ive communicated with Pete through private messages......Ive always thought the guitar/vocal work highlighted the song, but your parts added a "chill factor" to it for me...you really did a great job putting those parts right where they needed to be.....the production isnt flawless(but it is darn good), but the essence and feeling of the song comes through in this final version....please dont underestimate what you contributed....

this is a special song to me and you guys did a great job on it.....

Mike

thanks Mike! That's all that matters to me..

It was definitely my pleasure, Pete's a great dude, and I really liked the tune before my parts..
Glad I could contribute something halfway useful.

catch you guys on the next one!
