Midi trouble

I just upgraded from a SBlive to Delta 1010lt and can't get the midi to play unless its through a DXi. Settings are:

Midi in: USB Omin - I'm using a usb key station
Midi out: Delta 1010 midi
Bank: -- no other options in dropdown list
Channel: 1default
patch: varies, none work

In Midi Devices, input is USB keystation and ouput is Delta 1010LT

I can record Midi data, just can't hear it.

Any suggestions?
 
Of course you can't hear it. The SB Live has an on-board synth chip. The Delta 1010LT does not. Your only recource is DXi with that card alone, or else use an external synth via the MIDI Out.

You can keep the SB Live in there and use it for its synth chip only if you're willing to accept the potential hassle getting the two cards to play nice with each other.
 
Midi is not sound.
Midi is a set of instuctions to be played by a sound source.
 
ok. yes. got it. the 1010 does not have a midi chip. should hav read the specs.
