GO PACKERS!
How do you insert sustain pedal commands after the fact?

I normally draw or record envelopes in Piano Roll which point to the appropriate parameter.

That's not specific to sustain, but is how I do modulation changes after the fact.

Q.

Thanks for the reply, but that's not quite what I'm looking for.I have a piano sample(gigapiano) in Kompakt that has natural resonance/sustain mapped to the sustain pedal and for the life of me I can't find a parameter in the piano roll view controller pane.
If worst comes to worst I'll just have to replay it....

what i do

it works for me if I just record over the same track in "sound on sound" mode and just use my foot (or tweek any other controllers) as it records... it usually records the events in a separate piano roll over the original performance, so they remain separated still...
give it a whirl
ar

Acidrock, in Piano Roll View, show controller pane, and select Controller. Then put number 64. It's not shown by default if you push the drop down menu, but if you type it 64 and enter, it will shown as sustain controller. All recorded sustain pedal will be shown, and you can draw to add/remove as you like.. :) Just make sure every single sustain event value 127 (press pedal)followed with value 0 (close pedal). Otherwise, it keeps sustain... :)
