Slow Children Playing
I did some googling but am subject to content filtering here at work.
I am trying to find something that my old drummer used to call a "MIDI converter". It had 6 or 8 1/4" inputs which you plugged sensors into. When you applied signal to that input, it triggered a midi note that you could assign. The old drummer had these little stick-on pickups that he put on his acoustic bass drum, etc that would trigger the big digital thump from a sampling drum machine.
The Roland TMC-6 looks like the same thing, but it may be a little expensive. I am not looking for one that is all that nice.
Do you drummers know what I am talking about? Is there a more economic solution? I am looking to find something to trigger sampled sound effects. Touch sensitivity is not really an issue, but it would be great if you could assign each pad to a different midi channel and, of course, any note.
I thought it'd be a little closer to $150 than $250 like the roland.
