microphone ohms

Hi,
I just bought a Joe Meek VC2 and on the back it has a hidden ohm switch which can be set at either 50 or 200 ohms. How should I set this switch to get the best sound?

Plug in a mic, set it on 50 ohms and listen/record. Then set it to 200 ohms and do the same thing. Use whichever sounds best.

Different mics may require different settings.

Yeah, do what crazydoc said. Also, most mic manuals tell you how many ohm's the mic is.
