Microphone Boom Stand Mounted on the Ceiling?

Good day, i am trying to find out how to mount a microphone arm / jack mount on the ceiling, so i can push it up out of the way when not in use. Does anyone know how to do this, or are there any mounts / stands that can allow for this? thanks for anyone's reply!

you could probably even just go to a home-improvement store and get a wall- or ceiling-mount articulated lamp, if you're up for modifying it.

intresting. You could just do something simple like fasten a regular mic stand and boom to the cieling. Would be limiting, but could be cheap! Just remove the base from the stand. Take a length of 2x4 and drill a hole the diameter of the stand, stick it through there and find some sort of nut to back it. nail or screw the 2x4 to the cieling. I think I may try it. I'm not sure what materials are up in the cieling in my space though. If you can weld, you could make something intresting.

Local hardware stores are full of flanges and swivels and all sorts of stuff, all you have to add is a little injenuity and a few screws. Try it, it might be fun and who knows you could come up with something worth marketing.
