Is the 2000b one of the non-sucky cheap AKGs? If it is I'd make sure the store allows unwanted goods to be returned and take em both for a spin.

This is the mic forum, it does none of us any good to name a thread "mic." 
There are a couple people around here that say that the C2000 is better than the C1000 or C3000, which, is to say, it doesn't suck.
If you had called your thread "C2000 questions" or something, maybe someone with some experience with this mic would be more likely to come help you out.
