Alright, so I just got a new Christmas package of cool recording goodies from some relatives. Problem is, I can't see how to plug them up to my computer. I received a condenser mic, which I know to plug in to my new mixer, a xenyx 802 (phantom power is on). Now, I've had a Line 6 Toneport UX1 for a good while, which I connect to my computer via USB cable. There is another output which the Line 6 company recommends to hook up to the computer, but it's a 1/4" output and I don't know how to connect that to my laptop.
Here comes the good part. How do I connect my mixer to my toneport to the computer and have everything be recorded on my software?

. Okay...plug it into the GUITAR input. Yes, there are mono inputs in the back of the toneport, and you could go main out left and right into those, respectively, BUT because this is USB, multiple inputs will only record onto one track, and unless you have your preferences messed with on your software, it'll only record onto one track...not fun. So run the RCA tape output on the mixer, set your fader levels on the mixer, EQ maybe, then your tape output level, then your preamp level on the Gearbox program, THEN you can record. Just make sure you arm the track! haha.
