Mic Shoot Out #3

...3 is my pick as well...just wondering if you've tried any of the Chinese ribbon mics yet (since you're comparing inexpensive mics)...I'd like to hear your voice thru the Nady RSM-2 (or similar Shiny Box)...I think it might do your voice more justice (IMHO)...

I personally feel that although 1 had a lot of presence, and three sounded ok aside from the gain, I'd have to say that 4 represented the most open sound with headroom. It seemed less gainy, but more optimized for all around sound. I did like 1 though as well

As promised here are the 4 mics in this shoot out.

1 - MXL V67G
2 - CAD E-100
3 - ADK Hamburg
4 - Peavey ERO 10 / PVR 1 same mic just different model #'s.

Out of the above mics I personally preferred the Hamburg best on my vox but I also kind of liked how the Peavey performed with my vox. I normally would never thought of using the Peavey but since it resembles an Earthworks SR71 I gave it a shot. I hope that these little mic shoot outs help some of you who are on the fence between some of the mics I've included. I know it is hard to get a good idea from mp3's but at least it gives a general idea on how each mic performs. I've got another 4 mics I will post next week if anyone is interested. As always YMMV with any mic and only you can decide what mic works best for you.
