Mic' Guitrs- Question

is it OK to leave the Mic on the floor? My cab is a 2x12 and I have no means of elevating it to a higher level.

Yes, I do have a mic stand. Questions was: Does elevation matter? Is it OK to have it about only 10 inches from the floor?

Do you mean getting the amp off the floor? If so, you don't have to elevate your amp, but I find with my Twin Reverb that is you prop it up on it legs it sounds better. I think leaving it on the floor absorbs some bass.

That was what I was looking for. My cabs are heavy and are seated on the floor carpets. It will be hard to elevate it though....

a lot of people do elevate their cabs from the floor, at least put it on a chair or something... or you can go all out and get those cab isolation blocks. Either way, getting it off the floor should give you a more defined sound.
