Mic Don`t Work?...........

ok, so I plugged my mic into the mic jack on my PC and when I try to record all it picks up is static, not me, help?

what type of microphone is it. what you probably need to do is get a microphone preamp and then plug that into your line-in on your soundcard.

First off - there is a newbies section for complex questions like these.
However - the mic input is amped up and is full of noise. Try using your line in input instead. You will find that you will, as mentioned, need a preamp of some sort. Also - if you are using a computer mic (like a labtec) you shouldnt expect anything good. I am guessing this is what you are attempting as most mic ins on soundcards are 1/8"

If it's the mic that came with the PC when you bought it... return the mic for a new one that works.
