hello
Okay, I'm getting sick of my mic cables going bad. I'm using my MD8's phantom power for my overhead drum mic. My cable will only last a short while before I start getting REALLY bad staticy sounds coming from it, and that cable goes bad. It only happens on my phatom powered mic. Any ideas?
The mic is a astatic public speaking mic.

Well, you're going to need good cables sometime... might as well get them now, just to know it's not the cables.

Our guitar player is always running into polarity problems with an old amp of his. Somehow I think the two problems are related, although I'm too dumb (and lazy) to think it out. His amp will work well after he WHACKs it, but by the end of the next song, it's buzzing again (I think it's his polarity switch in the back going out). The MD-8 doesn't deal with polarity, so I doubt it's responsible. Maybe it's that mic (tried switching out mics?).

Well inregards to what's happening, maybe the phantom power voltage bleeds into the signal-lines.

Might as well buy quality cables when you're replacing cheap ones every few months...
