Mic cable question

I ordered a Behringer Dual Condenser mic and i opend it up and noticed that the PINs where you connect the cable is Gold Plated then in the manual its say "We recommend that you use only mic cables with Gold Plated connecters"

Would this really affect the mic if i used a regular Mic cord that wasn't gold plated? if so where would i find gold plated connecter? i've looked around never seen b4 but then again i've only looked a few places in the last 5 hours ~1~

Gold plating gives you a better signal and dosn't corrode.
They are quite a bit more though.
